We’ve been serving pancakes the way you like them for more than 65 years.

The Original Pancake House was founded in Portland, Oregon by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke. Today, we’re bringing their vision of serving authentic pancakes, waffles, eggs and other traditional breakfast recipes to Peoria, Illinois.

We use only the best ingredients, such as 93 score butter, pure 36% whipping cream, fresh grade AA eggs, hard wheat unbleached flour, and our own sourdough starter.

We invite you to try our signature breakfast items like the Apple Pancake, which is baked to perfection with a deliciously rich cinnamon sugar glaze, or the Dutch Baby, an airy delight served with lemon, whipped butter, and powdered sugar. Our omelets are rolled in a skillet and then baked for a lighter consistency. Bacon is thick cut, fruit is the freshest of the season, and our Original Pancake House Coffee is specially roasted to be the perfect complement to your meal. We even have gluten-free and vegetarian breakfast options!

Our restaurant was designed and crafted with the same care as our menu. We’ve made sure to have roomy booths for your family and friends, USB outlets at your table for quick charging, and a private dining space for your special occasions.

Our partners share our passion for quality and service. Ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible, down to the pottery we use. The family-owned Deneen Pottery Company of St. Paul, Minnesota, has been making our iconic mugs since 1972.
